Our Purposes
Living a Spiritually Awakened Life
To unite all the people of all ethic backgrounds originally from the greater country of Cambodia, their offspring’s and all other interested people residing in the province and the city of Auckland, in the spirit, the promotion, the practice and the study of the “ THERABADA” Buddhist Faith and Teachings in the tradition and cultural ways of the country of Cambodia.
Our Mission
1. To establish and maintain a temple name “Was Khmer Puthearam “ in the province of Aucland to caster for the social and religious needs of the members.
2. To sponsor and support the residence of Buddhist monks to fulfil the spiritual and cultural requirements.
3. To promote regular religious observances, ceremonies, study, discussions and meditation.
4. To foster and preserve the faith and the culture by various means among which, to encourage the teaching of the Khmer language and the tradition and culture of Cambodia.
5. To publish and disseminate printed or audio visual materials on Buddhism or cultural matters or matters contributing to the welfare of the Community.
6. To encourage the establishment of a library of libraries.
7. To promote social and cultural harmony and mutual understanding among all members of the society and themselves with other peoples of the country of New Zealand.
